The paper presents computerized botanical data on Indigenous arboreal flora of Weatern Maharashtra. Phonological, climatic, distributional and utilitarian attributes for 273 indigenous tree species have been analyaed using data base. The stored data can be utilized with variety of character combinations to serve multiple applications as and when required. Several non-conventional plant species are preferred by villagers in Western Maharashtra for fuel-wood besides commercial ones. An attempt has been made to record these local species with their fuel characteristics. The paper describes 38 indigenous fuel-wood species commonly used by village communities from areas of Western Ghats of Maharashtra. Most of the life of Dr. Gibson while in India was devoted to conservation of forests of the Deccan Trap Country.
